Artist Statement
When I create art, It provides me with deep fulfillment. It grants me a sense of purpose. A
life without purpose has no meaning. My ambition is to captivate the minds and eyes of
others by composing distinguished works of art. I generate art by applying acrylic on
canvas. I use different mediums, such as chenille patches, fabrics, and newspapers, to
bring diverse textures into my paintings. Being from the mitten-shaped state (Michigan),
I place mittens in my paintings to remind individuals to commit to sensible protective
measures on their journey through life. My paintings are an indication of the past,
present, and imminent future fragments of my life.
